Worked in gastrointestinal surgery and gastrointestinal oncology at CMC Vellore where he rose to the position of Professor of Surgery in 2002. worked predominantly in the field of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery since 1997. Member of the liver transplantation team at Vellore from 1999. performed the first succesful adult Live Donor Liver Transplantation in Tamil Nadu in 2005. first such successful transplant in Karnataka later the same year after moving his practice to Bangalore.
