A Haematologist with more close to two decades of experience, Dr. Ramaswamy is an expert in the management of malignant and non-malignant diseases of the blood, in patients of all ages. His areas of interest are Haemato-Oncology and Stem Cell Transplant. He has completed an Observership in Paediatric Haemato-Oncology and Transplant and earned a Fellowship in Adult Haematology from Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto, Canada. He also holds a Doctorate of Medicine (DM) in Haematology from Madras Medical College and is a Diplomate of the National Board (DNB) in Paediatrics. This was preceded by a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Paediatrics from Government Medical College, Aurangabad, and an MBBS from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore. 

Before joining Aster Medcity’s Centre of Excellence in Oncology, he was a Consultant Haematologist at Medical Trust Hospital, Kochi, and a Resident Haematologist at Kuwait Cancer Control Centre – Kuwait’s only tertiary cancer centre. He has also taught Paediatric Haematology as an Assistant Professor at Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai. His research works on highly specialized aspects of cancer treatment have been published in many medical journals.
