Labiaplasty is often performed under local anaesthetic and involves trimming labial tissue to achieve a new shape.
Any incisions necessary are positioned carefully in order to avoid scarring and minimise discomfort. Dissolvable stitches are used to close the incisions.
There will be a degree of tenderness and swelling for a few days and you will need to take some time off work to rest and recover. For the first few weeks it is important to avoid penetrative sex to give your body a chance to fully heal.
