Treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma & Allogeneic BMT in India

Hodgkin's lymphoma (Hodgkin disease) is a cancer that starts in white blood cells called lymphocytes proliferate and develop abnormally , resulting in enlarged lymph nodes and overgrowth all over the body. Allogeneic bone marrow transplant (allo-BMT) is a type of treatment for HL that involves replacing the patient's damaged bone marrow with healthy bone marrow from a donor.

Allogeneic Bone marrow transplant is typically considered for patients with relapsed or refractory Hodgkin's Lymphoma, meaning the cancer has returned or is not responding to standard treatments. The procedure involves using high doses of chemotherapy and / or radiation therapy to destroy the cancer cells and the patient's own bone marrow , followed by infusion of the donor's healthy bone marrow.
