A 17 years old boy Mohammed Ahmed was suffering from Budd Chiari Syndrome a disease characterised by hepatic veins being blocked by blood clots or Thrombus The condition of the liver deteriorated over the time and he had started fluid accumulation in the abdomen needing regular ascetic tap to clear that They planned to come to Jaypee Hospital Noida for treatment Doctor Punit Singla Additional Director Department of Liver Transplant and Surgical Gastroenterology suggested for Liver transplant Fortunately His sister came forward to donate part of her liver Liver transplant was done successfully Both patient and donor recovered well Donor gone back to Iraq in two week after surgery and resumed her studies Patient is also doing fine He is back to his country and preparing to start his studies
