Mr Khaleefah a resident of Iraq had lost part of the pinna of his right ear following an accident about 10 years back He had faced problems in the society due to the shape of the ear So he decided to get his Pinna reconstructed But it was difficult to reconstruct the ear in a person of his age and that too after so many years of the incident Doctor Ashish Rai Director Department of Plastic Aesthetic and Reconstructive surgery took the challenge He did a single stage surgery with a Polyethylene porous implant temporoparietal fascial flap and full thickness skin graft to reconstruct the pinna in a 5 hrs surgery The result of the surgery is absolutely as expected implant is well taken by his body He has got a normal looking ear and gone back to his country happily
