The cost of Robotic Knee Replacement Surgery in Delhi for International patients is between 4,000 USD to 6,100 USD (Unilateral knee replacement) ; 6,000 USD to 10,700 USD (Bilateral knee replacement) in twin sharing room. Cost for Indian patients is between INR 1.8 lakh to 2.5 lakh (Unilateral) ; INR 3.2 lakh to 4.5 lakh (Bilateral) in twin sharing room. Total Knee replacement, also called Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) is a surgical procedure to performed to replace the injured or worn-out knee joint with an artificial joint called a prosthesis. Patients with severe arthritis or a severe knee injury are recommended to undergo this surgery.
TKR is a common orthopedic surgery that is performed under general anesthesia and usually takes about 1-2 hours. During the operation, the surgeon makes a cut over over the knee, removes diseased and damaged bone and cartilage while leaving healthy bone intact, and adds the implants. Just like any surgery, there are risks associated with TKR, including blood clots, nerve damage, and an increased risk of infection.
After procedure, the patient is advised to undergo physical therapy to help regain strength and mobility in the replaced knee joint. Pain killers may also be prescribed to help with any discomfort experienced during the recovery process. Most patients can resume their normal activities within a 2 months of proper care and rehabilitation.
