Esophageal cancer (esophageal carcinoma) is a type of cancer that develops in the lining of esophagus , which is the tube that carries food from the throat to the stomach. Robotic esophagectomy is a minimally invasive technique that uses robotic technology to remove the cancerous tissue and reconstruct the esophagus.
The surgery involves making several small incisions in the chest and abdomen through which robotic instruments and a camera are inserted.
