A brain tumour is a growth of cells in the brain that multiplies in an abnormal, uncontrollable way and can be either malignant or benign. These tumours can be either primary (originating from the brain) or secondary (metastatic) spreading to the brain from other parts of the body. Brain tumours can cause various symptoms, including headaches, seizures, cognitive impairment, and neurological deficits.
A right temporal craniotomy is a surgical procedure used to remove a brain tumour from the right temporal region of the brain. This procedure involves making an incision and creating a bone flap on the right side of the of the skull, specifically in the temporal area. Your surgeon carefully removes the tumour taking measures to preserve the surrounding healthy brain tissue and vital structures.
