Mrs Mohammed Hamed Abdulahi from Ethiopia Underwent successful L4 L5 TLIF surgery at Yashoda Hospitals Hyderabad Under the supervision of Doctor Vamsi Krishna Varma Penumatsa Senior Consultant Spine Surgeon Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion TLIF is a surgical procedure used to stablize the spinal vertebrae and the disc or shock absorber between them Lumbar fusion surgery is intended to fuse the adjoining vertebrae together removing any movement between them The surgery purpose is to alleviate pain and nerve irritation Surgical hardware is placed on the spine to aid in the fusion process Pedicle screws and rods are inserted into the disc space from one side of the spine and an interbody fusion spacer is inserted into the disc space from the other side Spondylolisthesis degenerative disc disease or recurrent disc herniations may necessitate spinal fusion
