Total Stay in Hospital will be 3 days. Total Stay in India will be 12-14 days. A cochlear implant is small electronic medical device that improves moderate to severe hearing loss. It's used to help in adults, children, and babies with hearing loss restore or improve the ability to hear and understand speech.
The device works by electrically stimulating the cochlear nerve (nerve for hearing). It has external and inner components.
A cochlear implant requires a period of training and therapy after surgery. During this time, you will learn how to care for the implant. You will also have aural, or hearing, rehabilitation to assist with learning how to interpret the new electrical signals, as well as how to apply these new listening skills to better communicate.
