35 yrs old Mrs Lay Lay Nwe from Myanmar was suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease and was on maintenance hemodialysis for a long time She came to India for kidney transplantation After visiting other centers she finally choose Jaypee Hospital Noida India for the procedure Her husband who had same blood group was the donor Husband to wife transplant is always challenging as wife gets sensitized against Husband HLA antigens The team took up this challenge Doctor Amit K Devra Director and Kidney Transplant coordinator Department of Urology and Doctor Vijay K Sinha Additional Director Department of Nephrology and Kidney Transplant did their evaluation Transplantation was done in February 2022 Laparoscopic Nephrectomy was done in donor resulting in his faster recovery Patient gained weight after transplant Her current kidney functions are excellent and her blood pressure and other metabolic parameters are well controlled Both of them are doing well and have gone back their country They are looking forward to completing their family in the subsequent year as they still do not have a child
