12 yrs old girl Michelia from Nigeria had developed a condition called slipped capital femoral Epiphysis that caused the slip of the head of the femur of her right lower limb and consequent advanced degenaration of the right hip. The neck length of the femur was reduced causing the shortening of her leg by almost 4 centimetres Doctor Sanjay Gupta Director Department of Orthopaedics and joint replacement did corrective Derotation Subtrochanteric Osteotomy and plate fixation The patient regained her normal limb length and a very good relief from the pain that she had prior to surgery
